Love a Big Mac?
Sometimes it really hits the spot, doesn’t it?
Jordan has masterfully been recreating this popular fast-food meal, at home, for years now, and I selfishly never thought to share!
It’s crazy how similar it tastes! Even friends of the kids beg for him to make it.
This is a perfect meal to make for an outdoor dinner with the family. Just prep the sauce beforehand, grab the other ingredients and head out to your fave bbq spot! It’s also a great meal to outsource to someone else in your family to actually cook and assemble 😉
Enjoy this better-for-you version guys! (and this snippet of our family bbq, making this recipe) x

Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 15 minutes
Total Time: 30 minutes

For the Special Sauce

  • 1 cup Gevity Mayo also called bone broth sauce
  • 2 pickles finely diced
  • 1 Tbspn pickle juice from the jar
  • 3 Tbspn tomato sauce
  • 2 Tbspn dijon mustard
  • 1 Tbspn coconut sugar or rapadura
  • ½ Tbspn vinegar of choice
  • 2 tspn paprika
  • 1 tspn onion powder
  • 1 tspn garlic powder

  • 6 burger buns of choice. I like getting organic rolls from the farmers market. Choose GF if needed.
  • 6 slices cheese Old English / cheddar
  • lettuce shredded
  • pickles sliced
  • ½ brown onion finely diced
  • 500 g minced beef grass-fed

  • 1. Combine all sauce ingredients and mix thoroughly.
  • 2. Halve buns. Spread butter on inside of bun half and pan fry inside of bun on each half only.
  • 3. Shape beef into patty sizes and fry. Add slices of cheese on top of patty at final stage of patty cooking until melted.
  • 4. Spread Special Sauce thickly on bottom bun. Add diced onion, pickles, beef patty with melted cheese. Add lots of lettuce. Add top bun.
  • 5. Devour 🙂

We like to double the beef and cheese for this recipe, and for dinner the following day, we fry up a "bubble and squeak" with some cooked brown rice (that is always on hand in the fridge), chopped up left-over cooked beef patties, some sauce and whatever veg we have on hand (mushroom, broccoli, whatever - just fry them up first and then add the rest).
