Cold Killer Elixir

THIS awesomeness is what we have affectionately dubbed the “Cold Killer” in our house. There’s really no rules here. Down play intensity by watering it down, adding more honey or less cayenne pepper or turmeric.

Cold Killer Elixir

Prep Time: 5 minutes
Total Time: 5 minutes

  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger grated
  • 1 tbsp fresh turmeric or turmeric paste (can use powder if you don't have fresh, just add a tiny amount of black pepper to activate it if you do)
  • 1 lemon juiced
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon optional
  • ¼ tsp cayenne pepper to activate the turmeric (optional)
  • 500 ml Water
  • 1 tbsp honey raw

  • Throw everything except for the honey into the blender and blitz.
  • Gently warm in a saucepan.
  • Turn heat off and stir through the raw honey to taste. Enjoy!

You can down play it by watering it down, adding more honey and less cayenne pepper.

Do you drink it by the mug or the teaspoon?

      Hi Tanya,
It’s up to you really, it is quite an intense flavour, so you might want to work up to larger quantities slowly.
